Mangalayatan University (MU) is a private university established in 2006, located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and approved by various regulatory bodies including AICTE, NCTE, BCI, PCI, and COA. The university is accredited by NAAC with a 'B+' grade and holds memberships in associations like AIU. Inspired by the teachings of the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, Lord Mahavira, MU emphasizes value-based education, ethical leadership, and holistic development, with the motto "Learn Today to Lead Tomorrow."
Mangalayatan University was founded in 2006 by the Jain community through the Mangalayatan Education Society, under the visionary leadership of Shri Pawan Jain (Chancellor) and with inspiration from Jain principles of non-violence, truth, and self-discipline. It was established via the Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act, 2006 (U.P. Act No. 32 of 2006). The campus was inaugurated on October 26, 2006, starting with initial programs in engineering and management. Over the years, it has expanded significantly, now offering over 200 courses and serving thousands of students from India and abroad.
