Nestled in the academic heartland of Pune, often hailed as the "Oxford of the East," the Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence in technical education. Established in 1983 by the Society for Computer Technology and Research (SCTR), PICT has evolved into a premier autonomous institute affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). History and Establishment

Founded during the 1980s computer revolution by visionaries Shri. Gopal Krishna, Shri. N. Ramakrishna, and Shri. R. S. Kothavale under SCTR, PICT launched Maharashtra's first self-financed B.E. Computer Engineering (intake 60, now 240) in 1983; expanded to E&TC (1995), IT (2001), PG programs (2000+), and PhD centers (2014).
