Nalanda University Infrastructure

Nalanda University, revived in 2016 as a modern international institution near the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara ruins in Rajgir, Bihar, features a state-of-the-art, net-zero carbon campus designed for sustainability and academic excellence. Spread across 455 acres, the campus blends ancient heritage with contemporary architecture, aiming for complete operational status by 2027-2028. It is designed by renowned architect BV Doshi (Vastu Shilpa Consultants) and emphasizes green building principles, including solar power, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient systems.

Campus Overview

• Location and Size: Rajgir, Bihar (about 100 km from Patna), on a 455-acre plot adjacent to the ancient Nalanda ruins (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
