Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), a premier Department of Management Studies under the University of Mumbai, is renowned as India's "CEO Factory" for producing top business leaders. Located in Churchgate, Mumbai, it specializes in management education with a legacy of excellence since its inception.​

History & Establishment

Established in 1965 by the University of Mumbai in collaboration with Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, JBIMS pioneered India's first full-time two-year Masters in Management Studies (MMS). Funded by the Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust, it began operations in a historic red-brick building at Backbay Reclamation and has maintained top rankings for over 50 years.​

Academics & Programs

JBIMS offers full-time MMS (Marketing, Finance, Operations), MSc Finance, Master in Human Resource Development (MHRD), part-time MMS, and PhD programs. All are AICTE-approved, with 150-160 seats primarily for Maharashtra domicile (85%) via MAH CET; All India quota (15%) accepts CAT/CMAT.​

Campus & Facilities

The iconic red-brick campus in Churchgate spans classrooms, a library with 40,000+ volumes, computer labs, and administrative offices. Proposals exist for expansion to Mumbai University's Kalina complex. Facilities support practical learning with industry resources.​

Admissions 25-26

Admissions via MAH CET (Maharashtra quota), CAT/CMAT (All India). Process: Online registration, entrance scores, GD/PI, merit lists. Eligibility: Graduation 50%; cutoffs ~99.9 percentile (MAH CET). Key dates: MAH CET Mar 2026; results Apr; CAP rounds May-Jun.​
