Introduction

Alard College of Engineering and Management (ACEM), established in 2009 under Alard Charitable Trust, is a private, AICTE-approved engineering college in Marunji, Pune, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University with NAAC ‘B’ grade and ISO certification, offering mainly BE and ME programmes with about 480 BE seats and fees around INR 1.6–1.7 lakh for the full course.

History and Establishment

ACEM was started in 2009 at Marunji near Hinjawadi IT Park by Alard Group of Institutes to serve the rapidly growing IT and industrial belt of western Pune. Over time it expanded from initial BE programmes to include lateral entry and ME, gained NAAC accreditation and ISO certification, and strengthened ties with local industries for projects and placements.​

Academic Structure and Programs Offered

Academically, the college follows SPPU’s semester/CBCS pattern with departments in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and VLSI/related emerging areas. It offers BE (flagship, 480 seats in multiple branches), BE (Lateral Entry) for diploma holders, and ME in select specialisations with GATE/CAP-based intake. Curriculum includes university core courses, electives, labs, mini-projects and a full final-year project with industry interaction.​

Research, Facilities, Campus and Location

The campus is at Sr. No. 50, Marunji, Tal. Mulshi, near Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi Phase II, giving proximity to many IT companies. Infrastructure includes smart classrooms, department labs, library, seminar halls, basic sports facilities and cafeteria; the college promotes student projects and small-scale research, though it is more teaching- than research-heavy.​

Rankings, Achievements and Placements

ACEM is not in the top national NIRF bands but is positioned in the mid-tier private engineering segment in Pune, with marketing highlights around infrastructure, support to working professionals and improving placement outcomes. Reported highest package is around INR 16 LPA with an average near INR 7 LPA and key recruiters such as Infosys, TCS, Amazon, Bajaj, Horizon Telecom, L&T Construction, Mercedes-Benz, Tata Motors and Thermax. Typical placement ratios are moderate, with stronger outcomes in CS/IT compared to core branches.​

Admissions and Opportunities

Admissions to BE are entrance-based via MHT CET or JEE Main, with minimum 45% in 10+2 PCM (40% for reserved categories); for ME, a relevant BE/BTech with 50% and a valid GATE score or CAP PG route is required. Opportunities include state and minority scholarships (VJNT/OBC/SBC/minority schemes), along with training, internships and campus drives via the placement cell.​

Governance and Leadership

The institute is run by Alard Charitable Trust under the Alard Group of Institutes; day-to-day academics are overseen by the Principal and HoDs, reporting to the management. Governance focuses on incremental enhancement of infrastructure, accreditation status and employability of students.​
