Introduction

Jai Hind College is an empowered autonomous college affiliated with the University of Mumbai, located in Churchgate, Mumbai. Established in 1948, it is renowned for academic excellence across arts, science, and commerce, serving over 6,000 students with a motto "I Will & I Can" that emphasizes holistic development and global readiness.​

History & Establishment

Founded in 1948 by professors from D.J. Sind College, Karachi, displaced by India's partition, under the Sind Educationists’ Association led by Principal Prof. T.M. Advani. Starting as a two-room arts college, it added science in 1949 and commerce in 1980, progressing from humble beginnings to a multi-faculty institution. Granted autonomy in 2018 by the University of Mumbai and empowered autonomous status in 2023 for 10 years.​

Academics & Programs

Offers 31 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across 9 streams, including B.Sc., B.Com (Hons.), B.A., M.Sc., M.Com, BMS, BMM, and specialized programs like biotechnology, banking & insurance, and mass media.
